Diversity

Diversity is an important part of what makes life on the Bellarine great.  However some groups of diverse Victorian’s experience poorer health due to a range of biological, behavioural and social factors, such as culture, language, migration experience, Aboriginality, sex and gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age and disability.

Bellarine Community Health is proud to promote and advocate for the health needs of our diverse community including lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans* and intersex (LGBTI) people; Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) people; people with dementia; people with disabilities; and culturally and linguistically diverse people (CALD).

People using our health services:

  • Will receive confidential services;
  • Will not be exposed to any form of discrimination, or be made to feel uncomfortable;
  • Will receive inclusive healthcare specific to their needs from appropriately trained staff; and
  • Will see their diversity needs valued and respected.

If you have ideas or experiences that can improve Bellarine Community Health’s services for our diverse community, please speak with a staff member or provide anonymous feedback through the Feedback Form.
